The youngest and the most active volcanoes in Galapagos are found in the island of Ferdinand. This site is unique and gives you an amazing and a lasting impression. The weird looking flat lava surface and the black volcanic rock cliffs have lots of marine iguanas wrapped among them.
The island also serves as a nesting ground for the beautiful Galapagos birds which are the favorite of tourists and visitors. You may also see the large blue eyed flightless cormorants that are usually seen rising out of the water then walk along the shore and slowly spread its wings to dry them. Surprisingly, these rare cormorants can’t fly due to their tiny wings.
The area is well protected so that the endangered and rare birds will be kept safe and secured.
