San Cristobal Island
San Cristobal is known as the second biggest population host next to Santa Cruz. But, it is not much visited by travelers or tourists on cruises. The island of San Cristobal is really peaceful, scenic and worth visiting for.
If lucky, you may spot the red footed booby that is rarely seen in Galapagos. You may past the Centro de Interpretacion (northeast into the Scrub forest) if you are interested to see the Frigates nest. It will take you a great 35-minute walk to the rocky areas of Centro Tijeretas without the help of your tour guide.
At Playa Punta Carola, there is an excellent surfing site that has huge and daunting waves. This is good if you want to experience extreme surf. Perhaps, if you want calmer surf, try to visit Playa Mann or Playa de Oro.
Walking in the south of the town to La Loberia, you will be astonished by the marine iguanas, sea lions, birds and tortoises as well.
